Sean is by far the most personally committed teacher I've ever encountered—and I've had some great teachers.
It wasn't just that he designed the class from the bottom up to make sure that we learned and practiced in ways that were self-reinforcing—which he did.
It wasn't just that he has tweaked the course every time since its inception, relying on his students' feedback to make it better and better every time—which he does, too.
And it wasn't how he seemed to be omnipresent, responding to our forum posts at seemingly all hours of the day and night—yes, sometimes, I'd have a reply in mere minutes. Never longer than a day at most, and that very rarely.
No—what illustrated Sean's incredible commitment to me most was how, twice, I was feeling so stuck on a concept that I literally couldn't continue.
Sean jumped on an overseas Skype call with me both times, spending a total of about 3 hours of one-on-one time with me, walking me through the ideas and some practice step-by-step until we were both confident I'd grasped them and could continue on my own.
It didn't even matter that my problems occurred “out of sequence”—that I was stuck on things we hadn't covered yet. Sean patiently worked with me until I got where I needed to be. I have NEVER had a teacher (online or otherwise) do that for me before, EVER.
