P.S. In case you have any questions, please email me. I do answer every email.
I didn’t have any obstacles, because I was already very interested in the pricing strategy stuff, and bought the product through Ben Settle’s list, whom I trust a lot.
As a result of buying the product:
I have only applied what I have learned in the first two books to the price of my monthly membership. So far, my membership had a single price (100 euros) where it included a monthly lesson, a monthly live strategy session, unlimited email support, access to exclusive content, special pricing and early access to new products.
So I divided it as follows:
Regular plan (€87):
-Monthly lesson
-Unlimited email support
Premium Plan (100€):
-Monthly lesson
-Unlimited email support
-Live strategic sessions
-Extras (bonuses, interviews, mini-courses…)
-Exclusive prices and priority access to my other products.
This first month where I have promoted it this way, twice as many people have subscribed as the previous month.
I’m not sure yet how much the price distribution has helped, but I’ll keep an eye on it in the future.
The specific feature I liked most about “Dart Board Pricing”:
I liked the simplicity with which everything is explained and the idea that there really is no “ideal” or exact price for a product, but rather the way in which the offer is packaged.
I had never thought about the idea of creating two plans for the same product and that the price difference between one and the other should not be more than 10-15%.
So these two ideas, together with the advice on how to create the bonuses, have been the preferred ones for me.
Three other benefits:
Entertaining, easy to understand and very valuable.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to better understand how pricing works in buyer psychology, and who wants to take some of the fear and confusion out of setting their prices.
That’s all.
Best regards,
Iván
Well, I hesitated to buy “Dart Board Pricing, because of the price Ahah… and also because English is not my mother tongue.
But what I read on your site for free was already very useful so I decided to buy it anyway. And I’m glad I did.
The product was very easy to read and it’s worth my money 😉
I like that it makes me brainstorm a lot about my business!
It’s simple to understand and so useful! Easy to digest. No bla-bla-bla.
I would recommend to read it to gain time! No need to read a lot of books on this subject or some bla-bla-bla. Now that I read several psychotactics books, I can’t stand bla-bla-bla anymore ….
Thanks a lot, Sean 🙂
Have a great day.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure if your advice would apply to my business – a brick and mortar healthcare practice.
What I found:
I was an idiot to think it might not apply to my business. There’s always a way to adapt good information to your own situation. And your advice isn’t just good – it’s superb. I haven’t just applied your ideas tactically, I’ve completely changed our business strategy to include all three “gorilla’s.”
The specific feature I like most about The Website Components Series.
I most liked your ideas on utilising scarcity. It’s something I’ve been working on since starting the business but I’ve always found it difficult to do authentically.
The idea of making something an event was the breakthrough I was looking for. We’ve made our core services available at all times and layered seasonal and themed promotions on top. That effectively means turning healthcare services into events with extremely limited appointments and associated products. It’s still in the making, but could be a game-changer!
Three other benefits:
1) Full story – I’m a huge Claude Hopkins fan, so the concept was familiar to me, but you gave me the confidence to always tell the full story.
2) Pricing table – I immediately increased prices across the board using pricing tables and continue to work on the other gorillas so the foundations are in place for further increases
3) Packaging – this was huge. How the hell did you get me to grasp the concept by reducing it to a single word? Well, you did. Now I’m creating a new website and sales process so it’s consistent with our desired packaging and facilitates charging higher prices.
I would recommend this product without a shadow of a doubt. I’ve studied past (Hopkins, Caples, Reeves) and present marketing wizards (Abraham, Halbert, Kennedy) but your ideas on pricing have had more of an impact on my business (and marketing ability) than anyone else.
Thank you very much for your guidance.

Well, often when buying on the internet expectations are high and the result is a disappointment.
With regard to Sean’s products, it is different. I have purchased products several times, starting with “The Brain Audit” or “Story Telling” and each time my expectations have not only been met but exceeded and also “Dartboard Pricing” is wonderful.
Why is Dartboard Pricing so helpful for me? Simply because the psychology and process are explained in small, easy to follow steps and, most importantly, the recommendations can be applied immediately.
I think packaging is particularly important, because “what good is it to be good if no one recognizes it”.
I have identified that aspect many years ago when selling coats. Only the replacement and positioning of a logo allowed to triple the price.
Another feature that I think is great is “The Magic of Un-Bundling”. Extremely helpful for me!
It is great, that I can use the described processes immediately and bring the ideas about pricing to life in my Business.
That is why I recommend Dartboard Pricing with full conviction and give 5 stars!
I enjoyed the book package and got a number of ideas from them, I think the one that sticks out is the two levels of pricing which can help you raise prices over time. I’ve made mistakes with raising prices for my art prints in the past, so I’m looking forward to using your approach moving forward.
What were the obstacles that would have prevented you from
buying, “Dart Board Pricing”?
I think deciding if it was really going to help me or not. I’m curious enough about pricing to explore alternative approaches, so I did think I would learn something different from your course.
I found as a result of buying the product: I could relate to a lot of the content. I think the 15-20% premium price makes great sense. I rather dogmatically thought that items are better with three prices, so this changed my thinking here.
The specific feature you liked most about “Dart Board Pricing”:
Two levels of pricing. I’m sure there was more while I was reading the books, but this has lingered in my memory.
As a result of buying the product I got a deeper understanding on the psychology of pricing.
The specific feature I liked most about “Dart Board Pricing” was the 3 gorillas.
Three other benefits:The way to present information, the importance of a clearly defined uniqueness, the bonus.
I would recommend this product–Of course, unlike other things I’ve read, it goes straight to the point and have distilled useful information.

This was a book I wasn’t certain I needed because I have been in Sales and creating pricing packages and negotiating prices successfully for over a decade. Why the heck was I investing in a book about pricing? Two reasons: I love multiple perspectives, even in an area of expertise (that is how I believe we continue to build expertise). The other reason – Sean is a brilliant thinker and teacher. I am impressed by his work and his style of teaching and I have found value in every book I’ve bought from him.
My biggest take away was his perspective on simplifying the packages for the buyer with the yes yes system. His ability to demystify the psychology behind the buyer’s decision, the need for clarity and how to put those components together, were truly well thought out and communicated.
There is so much I could say but here are a few key points I truly enjoyed:
– Psychology behind pricing
– The Yes Yes system – not just what it is but why it works, common mistakes and how to build it methodically
– Sequencing from a marketing perspective, the buyer’s psychological and natural journey and the impact of sequencing on the lifetime value of a client
– Great presentation with storytelling, graphics and formatting. The formatting was super useful for me. I have multiple challenges with reading – I generally learn by audio and skip books that don’t have an audio version. His presentation made it easier for me to get through the book. I have it on my calendar for a second read.
If you sell anything, I wholeheartedly encourage you to read this book. If you don’t sell anything, I wholeheartedly encourage you to read this book – you’ll learn a lot about the psychology of decisions, different ways of looking at products, creative thinking, presentations, teaching and so much more. And, then there is the biryani recipe! 🙂
I wish I had run into his work when he started teaching many years ago. I’m excited to have found his work and now have 10hrs a week blocked off on my calendar to study his books. Admittedly, I cheat and spend more than 10 hours a week reading and rereading his books and applying it to hone my skill.
The advice Sean D’Souza gives in Dartboard Pricing pulled me back from the brink of a product
launch disaster—and just in the nick of time. In a few weeks, I’m meeting with my web
developer to flip the switch and launch a product I’ve developed. I’m embarrassed to admit
that until few days ago, I was STILL struggling with how to package and price my products. I had
planned to follow a WordPress template and set up a typical catalog-style ordering page with
product details. It would look nice. But I had a gnawing feeling that something just wasn’t right.
My product is a physical binder (and a digital version) that solves a big and emotional problem,
plus a series of ebooks that will enhance the customer’s success. When I looked at the order
page template, my products and descriptions seemed like ordinary products … just sitting there
in ho-hum fashion on an ordinary sales page. To make matters worse, I had too may purchase
options; customers could buy just the binder, the binder with printed pages, just the ebooks,
the ebooks as part of a bundled deal, or a digital version of the binder pages. No matter how I
tried to list or bundle them, they didn’t feel any more enticing. I was feeling like they would be
seen as just a commodity—not an important solution that took years to develop—and that
made me even more timid about asking for the price I needed. This being my first start-up, I
didn’t know what to do to fix it. Then three mornings ago, everything changed. There in my
inbox was an email from Sean D’Souza with the subject line: Announcing: Dartboard
Pricing—How To Increase Prices Without Losing Customers. I actually did a double-take. I
opened it, ordered it, downloaded it, printed it … and devoured all three parts within a day’s
time. By the next day, I had my “Yes-Yes” pricing chart created (after being frustrated about
pricing for over a year!). The chart was simple and powerful. What’s more … now my products
are presented in a way I feel will have people eager to order at the price I am asking. I cannot
put into words how grateful I am to have learned from this awesome training. I can finally feel
confident about my pricing strategy—a GIGANTIC relief! Dartboard Pricing is about so much
more than pricing structure. Sean shows how to build the uniqueness of your product into the
sales page—so customers can see the value, and be compelled to order. If I had followed the
typical catalog-style ordering page, my pricing would have been separated away from the story
of why customers need it. So even though it’s a great product, I can see how my launch may
have flopped. And without reading Dartboard Pricing, I don’t know if I’d ever have discovered
what was wrong. One more thing … at the end of Part III, Sean offers that if you have any more
questions, just email him. I did. I was indecisive about how to present my digital offering along
with the printed offering. Within hours, I had the answer. I’m still astounded by his support.

I wasn’t sure that I was ready for the information in ‘Dart Board Pricing’ as I haven’t started my business yet. I tend to get overwhelmed with thinking about everything I need to do to start my business so I wasn’t sure that I should buy ‘Dart Board Pricing’ yet. I guess another obstacle would have been price. If it was too expensive I probably wouldn’t have purchased it as I’m paying off a lot of things at the moment.
As a result of buying the product—
I loved the simplicity of ‘How to start a project’ and that it was broken down into easy to understand concepts. You use analogies really well so that your ideas can be easily understood, especially in ‘The Brain Audit’.
I found the questions to ask myself to determine my brand personality really interesting and unique – I found an answer to determining my brand personality within two minutes! It will take time to concrete these ideas but the direction those questions gave me was very helpful.
The specific feature I liked most was that it included ‘How to start a project’ and ‘Target profile interview’.
Three other benefits:
The idea of interviewing just one person to determine your target profile. This is so much easier to implement than researching lots of people or guessing about target markets.
The ideas in ‘How to start a project’ will be useful long after I’ve started my business. I can come back to these ideas if I’m stuck or not achieving the success that I want and figure out what aspect of the book I’m not following.
The way the ‘Target profile interview’ relates to the ideas in ‘The Brain Audit’. This makes ‘The Brain Audit’ more concrete in my head and shows me how it can be implemented in a different way.
I would recommend this product to those just starting their business to give them simple, easy to follow concepts on how to start a business without getting lost in overwhelm and things that don’t need to be done yet.
This is not related to ‘Dart Board Pricing’ but I wanted to thank you for the free Brain Alchemy workshop! I’ve just finished listening to the first download and it was really interesting to think of my business in terms of consulting, training and leverage. I’ll be starting an eyebrow tattooing/lash perming business where I do the treatments on clients. So I’ve mainly got consulting. I’m yet to think of how I will conduct training but so far I’ve thought that as clients will be asking very similar questions about the procedures I will conduct a weekly or fortnightly teleconference where potential clients can log in and I can answer all their questions in one go, saving me time and demonstrating expertise. I will advertise this on my website and direct clients to this when they email me. For leverage I will be selling products for eyelash care. So I’m sure there is a lot more I could do with training and products but thank you for getting me to think along these lines!
All the best,
Elise
I found “Dart Board Pricing” an excellent presentation about pricing not previously encountered by me in other courses relating to online marketing.
The books are written so the concepts are easy to understand, and the strategies about when and how to increase a product’s price are very instructive.
I certainly recommend “Dart Board Pricing” for anyone who wants to learn Sean D’Souza”s theories on pricing and his practical advice.
1. What were the obstacles that would have prevented you from
buying, “Dart Board Pricing”?
The main obstacle to buying Dart Board Pricing is the whole concept of raising prices for my existing clients. I had this feeling that once a client signed up, I should keep their price the same pretty much forever. It’s not that I don’t raise prices — I do. But my strategy was to raise prices as new clients came to me — not raise prices with existing clients.
2. What you found as a result of buying the product.
However, what I found as a result of buying this product is that it makes sense to raise prices with my existing clients.
3. The specific feature you liked most about “Dart Board Pricing”.
The specific feature I liked most about Dart Board Pricing was the time devoted to the psychology of raising prices. Because in fact I don’t have enough time in the day, and my goal is to see clients less frequently so I can devote more time to writing and selling info products that will benefit my clients — and have more energy when I do see my clients.
4. Three other benefits?
So the main benefits I received from Dart Board Pricing were 1. I did raise prices for my existing clients (and none of them complained or left me) 2. Because I am earning more from my existing clients, I am that much closer to having enough income and more time to do what I love — write and prepare info products and 3. I feel better about myself and my relationships with my existing clients — and they do, too. (They knew that they were paying too little for the great service I provide:-)
5. Would you recommend this product and why?
I do recommend Dart Board Pricing to anyone like me who would like more time to do what they love, offer even better value to their clients, and feel good about the work that they do.
6. Anything else you would like to add?
The only other thing I’d like to add is that Sean D’Souza has had a profound impact on my life and on my business. I listen to his podcasts as well as read his info products — and always get inspiration and encouragement. Thanks, Sean!
I suppose I wouldn’t have bought Dart Board Pricing if I didn’t think it was going to provide any real answers or anything beyond what I already knew.
I have a very high success rate when it comes to sales but I’m interested in increasing my prices over the next two years, rather substantially. I purchased it as I was certain that it would provide useful info about how to actually go about doing that without experiencing excessive customer friction.
Dartboard pricing confirmed some practices that I was already using – showing me why it was working and how to make it work even better. It also gave me an easy to use framework for selling any course or product that I create. I feel confident now that when I create my first online course I will be able to price it in a way that communicates the value of what my clients will be receiving.
The feature I most enjoyed about Dart Board Pricing was the table that shows you exactly how to price things so that they sell. It’s kind of genius. It makes it so much easier to set up your pricing for big ticket items.
Three other benefits
Easy to understand. Beautifully designed. Smart. Efficient. .
I’ve already recommended this product to two of my friends. And one has already bought the product.
For anyone selling anything online – especially courses and services with big price tags attached, this is a vital product. It will leave you feeling way more in command of your pricing.
Most small biz owners I know have all sorts of issues with pricing – this should take away some of those issues if not all of them.
There’s basically no good reason not to buy Dartboard Pricing. It’s hands down the best $50 I’ve spent this year.

1. What were the obstacles that would have prevented you from
buying, “Dart Board Pricing”?
Value, being conned, not allowing time to read and learn from.
2. What you found as a result of buying the product.
They are long but that is not a bad thing. Personally I have been consuming marketing for so many years I have built up a resistance to the story way of writing, so I can spot them quickly and I tend to skim read those parts, to find the parts that teach. Although that doesn’t mean I won’t use this.
I think explaining what not to do is powerful way to teach.
I have used the yes-yes system in one email a couple of days ago and, “I think” avoided all the errors: I even used red ticks.
Trying to unbundle our service was a lot harder than I expected. In that email a client wanted to buy a microphone console (we install sound systems).
But supply only causes problems with clients then feeling they are entitled to lots of free support, when they should have paid us to install the product.
So I recommended an Audit which I branded as the “Sound Profile Audit” based on Dart Board Pricing, and created a negative brand which I called “one-off cold installs.”
That created a barrier – Dart Board Pricing again.
So what I found was lots of good ideas that I think will work but no hard evidence for that as yet.
I think a good outcome is that whether that barrier I created in that email makes that customer buy or not, we either get a client who we have a good relationship with or avoid a bad client whose interest is cheapness.
3. The specific feature you liked most about “Dart Board Pricing”.
The Yes Yes System
4. Three other benefits?
Benefit 1: The “not to do” teaching method was good – something I will do more of.
Benefit 2: The three parts of the book. This reduced pressure to read everything quickly as I could finish each “book” then wait until I had some more time to read the next book.
Benefit 3: Unbundling
5. Would you recommend this product and why?
Yes, clear instructions on how to implement. For me clear instructions or ways to implement are around in many documents but it is rare you get both together.
6. Anything else you would like to add?
It gave me just enough trust to pay to join 5000bc.
5. Would you recommend this product and why?
6. Anything else you would like to add?
I thought I had a good handle on pricing before buying “Dartboard Pricing” and I didn’t think this topic was one of my weak areas.
No matter how good the book was, would it be of value to me?
Psychotactics has helped me sort out thorny business problems in the past so I pretty much bought it sight unseen and I’m glad I did. Dartboard Pricing made me think about pricing in new ways that I hadn’t previously considered.
I would call Dartboard Pricing a classic example of a Psychotactics product.
It’s well thought out, chock full of value, and covers more ground than you would expect from the title.
I bought Dartboard Pricing without doing ANY research on it and was surprised to learn that it has not one, but THREE sections on pricing.
Of the three-part series (a method to increase prices, the yes-yes system, and sequential pricing) I’m hard pressed to choose a favorite. The first two parts of the series make me think about individual product pricing while that last part makes me step back and consider overall strategy. I found the overall strategy piece essential for pulling me out of the weeds and looking at my overall pricing strategy.
Super good stuff!
I’m sure I’m not the only one wonders if I have the pricing right and if I’m optimizing my pricing strategy to get the most out of my business.
In my opinion, the pricing question is a conundrum that’s at the core of any business. Dartboard pricing tackles the pricing issue in a way that clarifies the issues around pricing and provides a path forward that completely negates the “discount” mentality that keeps so many businesses from thriving.
Any book on pricing has got to be boring, right?
Wrong! In true Psychotactics fashion, a typically dry topic is full and juicy with insights, stories, examples and analogies. Dartboard Pricing was fun for me to read and helped bring order to my jumbled preconceptions around pricing strategy.
Reading “Dartboard Pricing” felt more like having an interesting conversation than reading a report.
I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone who needs to price a product and consider their overall pricing strategy to get the most out of their business. It will help anyone consider their pricing strategy and improve their business. Don’t discount your products or services out of existence, read Dartboard Pricing!
